After my initial review of the Godox iT32, I received a lot of great questions from you—so here’s a proper follow-up where I go through the most important ones.
Let’s dive straight in.
Leica X5 Trigger: Is It Available?
Yes—there is a Leica version of the X5 trigger, and it’s already available at B&H and pretty much everywhere else.
This trigger will work with Leica SL and Q series but not M (as of right now).
Modeling Light / “Fill Flash” Behavior
A common question: Does the front modeling light turn off automatically when taking a photo?
Yes—it does, if you set it up correctly.
The modeling light shows you how the light will fall on your subject.
To make sure it turns off during the shot, you need to confirm the setting in the modeling light menu (press enter to deactivate it during capture).
If left in modeling-only mode, it acts as a continuous LED light—even during shooting.
That can actually be useful for hybrid shooters doing both photo and video.

High-Speed Sync (HSS)
Yes, the iT32 supports High-Speed Sync.
But here’s the key detail:You need to remove it from the X5 trigger (off-camera use) to access HSS in the flash menu.

Softbox & Diffuser Recommendations
You’ve got a few solid options here:
Use the included diffuser (simple and effective)
Add a small dome diffuser (Velcro or clip-on—easy to find online)
Or… use the ceiling
Honestly, the ceiling is one of the best softboxes you can get. It gives you soft, natural light—at the cost of some power, but the iT32 has enough output to handle that in most situations.

Bluetooth / App Compatibility
Short answer: No.
The iT32 does not support Bluetooth and doesn’t connect to the Godox app.It works exclusively with the 2.4 GHz wireless system.
Compatibility with Other Godox Flashes
Good news here.
If your flash supports the Godox 2.4 GHz system, the iT32 can trigger it.
Yes, that includes flashes like the TT350.
Power: iT32 vs iT30 Pro
iT32 Guide Number: 18
iT30 Pro Guide Number: 15
So yes—the iT32 is technically more powerful.
But in real-world terms? The difference is about 0.26 stops—which is very minimal. You’re unlikely to notice it in practice.

Comparison with the AD100 Pro
This is where things get interesting.
iT32: GN 18
AD100 Pro: GN 52
That’s a massive difference.
In simple terms:The iT32 delivers about 3x less power than the AD100 Pro.
And yet—they’re not that different in size.
So while the iT32 is incredibly convenient for on-camera use, the AD100 Pro is in a completely different league when it comes to raw power.

Price: Is It Worth It?
The combo (iT32 + X5 trigger) comes in at a little over $100 USD.
That’s honestly a very solid value for what you get.
Battery Life: How Many Shots?
Godox claims:
510 flashes at full power
And that’s important—because most people don’t shoot at full power.
So in real use:
Half power → 1000+ shots
Quarter power → 2000+ shots
1/8 power → 4000+ shots
That’s more than enough for most scenarios.
And realistically, if you’re constantly shooting at full power with a flash this size, it probably means you need a more powerful unit.
I tested this manualy (yes, imagine the pain) and after 20 shots at full power it takes longer to recharge (3-5 seconds between shots) until it cools down. But I surpassed 600 shots and I still had battery
Also—USB-C charging makes it easy to top up during a break.
Final Thoughts
The iT32 is a compact, capable flash that fits perfectly into a lightweight setup—especially for on-camera use or as part of a larger Godox ecosystem.
It’s not a powerhouse like the AD100 Pro, but that’s not its role.
For its size, price, and flexibility—it delivers.
