Godox iT30 Pro Review – The Tiny Flash That Does So Much More

If you think the Godox iT30 Pro is just another on-camera flash, think again.

I recently tested this compact speedlight and was impressed by how much capability is packed into only 120 grams. Here’s my full hands-on review.

TTL and Manual Shooting

The iT30 Pro supports TTL (Through-The-Lens) metering, so the flash automatically calculates the right power based on your camera settings and subject distance. You can even dial in ±3 EV to under- or over-expose for creative control.

Prefer full control? Switch to Manual mode and set the power yourself. Manual mode also makes the flash brand-agnostic—great if you mix camera systems.

Light and Compact

At 120 g, the iT30 Pro is lighter than some Godox triggers.Despite its size, it feels solid and balances well on small mirrorless bodies.

Touchscreen & Controls

A crisp touchscreen lets you change every setting quickly, but Godox also provides a physical dial and menu buttons if you’re not a fan of touch interfaces.

Outstanding Battery Life & USB-C

Godox claims 560 full-power pops per charge.Because I usually shoot at ¼ or ⅛ power, I can go through a full wedding day without draining the battery.Recharging is simple with the built-in USB-C port—plug in any cable during a dinner break and you’re ready for the evening.

Built-In Diffuser & Quick Release

A flip-up diffuser softens the light just enough for quick portraits.Mounting is effortless with the quick-release shoe, a welcome upgrade over older screw-lock triggers.

Off-Camera Creativity

Here’s where things get exciting.Pair the iT30 Pro with a Godox trigger like the X3 and it integrates seamlessly into a multi-light setup.I used it as a hair light alongside my AD400 Pro, AD300 Pro, and AD100 Pro, and it performed flawlessly.

Master & Receiver Functions

The real surprise? The iT30 Pro can act as a wireless master or built-in receiver, triggering other Godox flashes or being triggered itself. It supports high-speed sync up to 1/8000 s (and even faster on certain Sony bodies), making it a true all-in-one lighting tool.

Final Thoughts

Compact, powerful, and impressively versatile, the Godox iT30 Pro is far more than an on-camera flash.Whether you’re a wedding photographer needing reliable TTL, a studio shooter adding a subtle hair light, or a travel creator who values portability, this little unit is worth a serious look.
